Part of the allure of candles are the cozy aesthetic they add to decorating for every seasons. Swapping candles for non-toxic alternatives like diffusing essential oils doesn’t have to mean missing out on warm and inviting fall decor. I’ve gathered my top tips for styling your diffusers for fall to achieve a magazine worthy display every time.
Set the Stage
Cake stands, cutting boards, and serving trays make a great canvas for arranging your diffuser. These help concentrate a small area to make your diffuser stand out amidst your decor. Cake stands are my personal favorite for their added height and whimsy.
Vary Heights and Widths
Vases and small stands or candle plates help add visual dimension to your arrangement. Play around with different heights and widths of elements to fill your space and make your diffuser stand out.
Add Texture
Floral stems add both texture and height to your arrangements. Lucky for me, artificial arrangements have come a long way over the years as I have a kitten who insists on eating any live arrangement I try to enjoy. I’m currently loving the look of wheat stems throughout our home for neutral texture that pulls arrangements together without taking away from other design elements.
Add Seasonal Whimsy
I personally love ceramic pumpkins and will pick up new ones every year to tuck into every nook and cranny of our home. You could totally swap for velvet, rattan, or any other materials that fit your style.
Pick the Perfect Diffuser
This time of year, the Desert Mist diffuser is my absolute favorite. It has a built in flicker setting that gives a warm flicker much like a burning candle. You can absolutely enjoy the ambiance of burning candles without the harmful side effects.
Make an Epic Diffuser Blend
Our current favorite is Pumpkin Spice, a blend of Cinnamon Bark, Nutmeg, Orange, Clove, and Vanilla essential oils. I’m not big on ratios and counting drops — start with equal ratios and adjust to preference. I personally go heavier on the spice, but you can totally tone it down with more orange and vanilla. You do you!
